Dukwana, who recently served as the interim provincial committee (IPC) convener, went head-to-head against Free State Premier Sisi Ntombela and received 346 votes, while Ntombela received 306 votes.
Her statement comes after losing to her counterpart, Cogta MEC Mxolisi Dukwana, who recently served as the ANC Interim Provincial Committee (IPC) convenor and was elected the provincial chairperson.
