Sedona Race Pace swimmers finish well at Junior Olympics

Sedona Red Rock News Lucy Spielman of the Sedona Race Pace Club works on her form during a practice last summer. Spielman was one of many Race Pace swimmers to finish strong at the Junior Olympics. She finished second in the 400 meter individual medley and later swam two time trials in an attempt to break the state record. After being disqualified for an illegal turn in the first, she legally broke the state mark, touching in at 5:32.06. While the Race Pace team has been able to stay open with some modifications, their schedule has been limited by the fact that, due to COVID-19 restrictions, there have been few opportunities for normal meets.
