Pokemon is celebrating a big milestone this year, as the franchise is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the release of
Pokemon Red and Green in Japan. It’s a big anniversary, to be sure, and it’s prompting not only fans but also Game Freak and The Pokemon Company themselves to take a look back at the history of
Pokemon. While the franchise has experienced popularity that’s waxed and waned throughout the years, today
Pokemon is as popular as it has ever been, if not more. It also seems to be stuck in the rut of iteration, at least as far as the games are concerned.

Sinnoh’s coming back.
Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are some of the most-loved games in the franchise, and they might not be stuck on the Nintendo DS anymore. Multiple rumours point to both games getting remade for the Nintendo Switch, the latest of which suggest a February game reveal.
Twitter user Kelios, who has accurately leaked information about Nintendo events in the past, previously claimed that remakes of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl would launch in November 2021. A Spanish fansite Cantro Pokemon also backed up these claims, saying that remakes of Diamond and Pearl were in development, and a reveal was being prepped for February.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate created stage sends you to Pokemon Platinum s Distortion World and makes me long for a Sinnoh remake Posted by Steven Dreamking23 Chavez • January 15, 2021 at 7:51 a.m. PST • Comments: 6
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate s Shared Content section has tons of great pieces for fans to check out. One of the most creative categories of this section is the created stages, where players upload their best backdrops for others to download and do battle upon, and the popular filter currently boasts several top notch designs for you to experience.
One of these designs that caught my eye while perusing the content this week was that of Pokemon Platinum s Distortion World. At a time where a remake of Pokemon s generation 4 (or a Sinnoh remake, as it s often referred to) is still nowhere to be seen, this created stage not only makes me long for such a remake more, but will help tide you over until we actually get one hopefully, anyway.
