The Trinidad and Tobago Guardian is the longest running daily newspaper in the country, marking its centenary in 2017. The paper started life as the Trinidad Guardian on Sunday 2nd September 1917 by the newly formed Trinidad Publishing Company Limited.

Opposition member David Lee, on Sunday, sought to clear the air on his covid19 status in response to concerns about his appearance in Parliament while displaying flu-like symptoms two months ago.
Lee in a UNC press conference at the office of the Leader of the Opposition in Port of Spain said he would not hesitate to provide his negative results but he hoped government ministers would have no trouble showing their own results when the Opposition returns to parliament on Wednesday.

The Ministry of Energy has officially launched its investigation into Wednesday’s explosion and subsequent fire at the Niquan Energy Gas-To-Liquids plant in Pointe-a-Pierre.
In a release yesterday, the Energy Ministry said it had appointed a technical team to begin the probe. The team has been mandated to establish the facts of the incident and conduct a thorough investigation of the factors that contributed to the explosion.

MP for Pointe-a-Pierre David Lee said the motion of no confidence brought against Minister of Energy and Energy Industries Franklin Khan was not a failure.
The motion was debated in Parliament on Friday.
Lee was one of two Opposition MPs at a media briefing at the Office of the Leader of Opposition, Charles Street, Port of Spain, on Sunday.
