Township approves lawn maintenance contract

The Fenton Township Board of Trustees voted to award a contract for lawn, landscape and beach maintenance services to Michigan DPW, LLC.  During a virtual meeting Monday, April 5, the board approved the four-year contract, from April 1, 2021 through March 31, 2025, for an estimated annual cost of $19,997.  This includes handling seasonal and regular lawn maintenance at the Fenton Township Civic Community Center, Fire Station #1 and Fire Station #2, Podunk House and Museum, Gage Cemetery, Odell Cemetery and Long Branch Cemetery and the U.S. 23/Thompson Road interchange.  Thomas Broecker, operations manager and deputy clerk, wrote in the meeting packet, “Michigan DPW has been providing lawn services to Fenton Township since 2011 and they do an excellent job. Based on the proposal analysis and prior experience, I recommend that the township board award the contract to Michigan DPW, LLC, and approve the attached lawn, landscape and beach maintenance services
