Pocahontas Volunteer Fire Department helps during water crisis Share Updated: 7:00 AM CST Feb 22, 2021 Share Updated: 7:00 AM CST Feb 22, 2021 A south Jackson neighborhood is thankful for a volunteer fire department for helping with the water crisis.Many who live in Jackson have been with low to no water pressure in the city thanks to the recent winter storms. Water is a necessity, a lot of people take it for granted until you don t have it, said Hinds County Emergency Management worker Joey Perkins.In order to help people who live in or near the Elton Park Apartment, the Hinds County Emergency Management Agency organized a water drive Sunday. It s not like it is a hand-me-down.
