Salisbury man charged with murder in deadly weekend shooting
SALISBURY, Md. One man faces murder and related charges after a fatal shooting in a Salisbury neighborhood.
Wicomico County Sheriff s Office deputies responded to the report of a shooting near the 1200 block of Pocahontas Avenue on Saturday, April 24, according to a news release from the department.
Deputies arrived to find Jerome Moss laying in the front yard, suffering with multiple gunshot wounds.
Witnesses told law enforcement Clifton Jones shot Moss, who was later pronounced dead after being rushed to TidalHealth Peninsular Regional Hospital, according to the release.
An investigation showed the victim was among others at the residence when the 44-year-old suspect shot him multiple times, according to law enforcement. The gun was then wrestled away from Jones, the release states, and he was held until deputies arrived.

SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man is behind bars after he reportedly shot and killed a man on Saturday.
We’re told deputies were called to the 1200 block of Pocahontas Avenue for a reported shooting. On arrival, deputies found Jerome Moss laying in the front yard suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Witnesses identified the suspect as 44-year-old Clifton Jones, who was located inside of the residence and taken into custody.
The subsequent investigation revealed that Moss and other individuals were at the residence when Jones grabbed a firearm and shot Moss multiple times. We’re told the firearm was wrestled away from Jones and he was held until police arrived.
