Two face weapons charges after Collinsville incident

EDWARDSVILLE Two people face weapons and other charges following an incident just outside of Collinsville.
Jose H. Arreola, 22, listed as homeless out of Collinsville, and Mario Mendoza, 22, of Collinsville, were both charged May 6 with aggravated discharge of a firearm, a Class 1 felony. Arreola was also charged with unlawful possession of weapons by a felon, a Class 2 felony, and aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, a Class 4 felony.
The cases were presented by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.
According to court documents, on May 2 the two allegedly shot at a building they “should have known” was occupied.
