Polling for the NA-75 seat in the National Assembly will continue from 8 am to 5 pm. Pakistan Rangers personnel will be deployed along with police at the polling stations while the army will be on standby. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has completed all preparations ahead of the re-polling. It has handed over ballot boxes, stamps and other election paraphernalia to the presiding officers. The equipment was delivered to the respective polling stations under tight security.

Top Story April 9, 2021 LAHORE: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) issued standard operating procedures (SOPs) for polling staff to conduct the by-polls on the Daska NA-75 seat scheduled for April 10. The presiding officer (PO) and assistant presiding officer will have a smartphone, according the ECP announcement. If the PO does not have a smartphone, the assistant PO will be appointed in his place. It has to be ensured that the location service feature of the smartphone is enabled, the ECP said, adding that the PO is to send a picture of Form 45 to the ECP and RO. The location feature should stay active even while taking the picture of Form 45, the ECP statement reads.

All set for Daska re-vote today CEC to supervise polling process PHOTO: FILE ISLAMABAD: The ruling party and opposition will again lock horns in re-election in the hotly-contested NA-75, Daska constituency, on Saturday (today) to get their man to win the coveted slot, prompting the ECP chief to supervise the polling process in Lahore. According to sources, Chief Election Commissioner Sikander Sultan Raja will be in the provincial election commission office in Lahore today as he would be “personally supervising” the re-polling process. Moreover, in order to ensure a fair re-election in NA-75, the provincial election commission has assigned Pakistan Rangers the task of safe transportation of presiding officers and the polling material to and back from the polling stations to the office of the returning officer.
