Plymouth Trinity United Church gave sanctuary to Georgina Flores, Manuel Rodriguez and their son Manolo last November. Four months later, they're still waiting to hear if their application for temporary residence will be approved.
Christmas will be different for many people in 2020. The same is true for churches. Plymouth Trinity United Methodist Church at 425 South Michigan Street usually has two well-attended services on Christmas Eve. This year, however, Trinity is planning a drive-through Christmas Eve experience for the community.
The Christmas Eve service will be on Thursday, December 24 from 4:30-5:00 PM. The Trinity Church choir will be performing many of the traditional Christmas carols on the William St. steps outside the church. There will also be a small live nativity scene and an opportunity to donate food for the Neighborhood Center. Communion will also be available. “We want to emphasize this is a drive-through experience so everyone can enjoy the music safely,” stated Sandy Burroughs Trinity Music Director.
