Rescuing Plymouth s Forgotten Rally Heroes
Chrysler engineer Scott Harvey spent decades rallying all sorts of Plymouth vehicles. We took a Ram TRX to unearth two of them that are destined to roar again.
When we pulled up, the large Hellcat-powered truck was swarmed by large men with Hellcat questions. “Is this the TRX?” Yes. “Is it 700 horsepower?” Actually, 702. “Did it tow well?” Didn’t even know the trailer was back there. “What kind of fuel economy did you get?” Ten point seven. “Have you seen the video where the guy jumps one and destroys it?” Oh, yes. Ended badly. “When did you buy it?” I didn’t. I borrowed it because I had an important pick-up job, a vehicle for which the only acceptable tow rig was Ram’s horse-heavy off-road hauler. Leaving the truck guys happily inspecting the Ram’s interior “Look at that screen!” I turned my attention to the driveway.
