14th annual Sartori Cheese Drop in Plymouth goes virtual

PLYMOUTH, Wis. – New Year s Eve celebrations will look a little different for many this year in the community of Plymouth, Wisconsin, home of Sartori Cheese.
The annual Sartori Cheese Drop, nationally lauded as one of the country s quirkiest New Year s Eve traditions, will be going virtual in the interest of public safety.
This event celebrates the city of Plymouth, known as the cheese capital of the world. For the past 14 years the event has drawn thousands as the community comes together to welcome in the new year. The crescendo of the event is marked by a countdown and the lowering of a giant wedge of Sartori s world award-winning BellaVitano Gold Cheese.
Sartori Cheese Drop Goes Virtual
The annual Sartori Cheese Drop, which takes place on New Year’s Eve in Sartori’s hometown of Plymouth, Wisconsin, will be going virtual this year in the interest of public safety.
For the past 14 years, the event has drawn thousands of attendees, marked by a countdown and the lowering of a giant wedge of Sartori’s BellaVitano Gold Cheese. This year, the drop was filmed ahead of time in partnership with the Plymouth Arts center and the Plymouth Fire Department. It wouldn t feel like New Year s Eve in Plymouth without the Sartori Cheese Drop – we re very appreciative to the Plymouth Art Center & Plymouth Fire Department for helping to keep the tradition alive this year.
