virginia as a whole. brian: you got in this race why? i lost five guys in afghanistan. last summer i was finishing up working for a judge in virginia. admittedly not planning on getting involved in politics. i think you can see that across the country with veterans. once i saw what happened lack of leadership and accountability on behalf of the biden administration the democrats as it related to the withdrawal in afghanistan and it s a tough pill to swallow when a gold star mother calls you and says what is going on in afghanistan and i truly didn t have an answer. brian: you competed in the ranger school and ranger competition. green beret. how many tours. six tours overseas to include iraq and afghanistan. [cheers and applause] steve: they say this district is a bellwether for the country. in what respect do you agree with that? i do agree. it s in central virginia. the district went a little bit for biden. the current district as it lies went a little bit for biden in 20
martha: what should we be watching tonight? a couple of things. you nailed the headlines in virginia. two districts that republicans think are ripe for the picking in this current election season and this climate. abigail spanberger, she s been through two tough elections. she barely won both. she back on the line yet again. her district, martha was moved north of where it was in richmond, which would seem to favor her in re-election. it s plus 6 in favor of joe biden from 2020. glenn youngkin won that same area by five points last november. so republicans feel good there. it s going to be one of the main targets to try to pick-off. the other one you mentioned, elaine luria, a military area in southeastern virginia. that is virginia beach. her district was changed slightly as well and dropped a few points in terms of the number of democrats that lived in that district. so they re gunning for those
two chambers of commerce during midterm. i think we will keep the senate but this is not unexpected. mike: so explain why do you think you keep the senate? well, republicans have a history of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. candidates matter. in pennsylvania you have dr. oz running ten points from a man recovering from a stroke. in ohio you have jd vance, author public i will said these folks need to understand that manufacturing jobs just aren t going to come back to ohio and gouge, you have someone who is a campaign consultant s nightmare in herschel walker. we are ahead in some of the states and we will ride to narrow victory in the senate. mike: from the same fox news poll, issues democrats handled better, climate change plus 15, abortion plus 8, voting rights plus 6, election integrity plus 3, coronavirus plus 3, what do you make of the numbers of both
the most important point to 11% now. so what you are essentially seeing is the issue which i think this will give you a pretty good idea. look at this. look at this. who do you trust more on the jobs and the economy? youngkin. education and schools, youngkin. basically a dead heat. plus 1. and mcauliffe, plus 6 on the covid pandemic. joe biden was holding like 20, 30-point leads on who was more trusted compared to donald trump. that dropped to plus 6 points. even the best issue for mcauliffe isn t that large of a lead. virginia, new jersey next week. why do we care about the weird y year.
it is an intelligence agency not a law enforcement agency. but he doesn t let that get in the way of his cuckoo for cocoa puffs theorizing. we have to charge people. so what i m telling you, the governor knew exactly what i just told you, and he still certified it. on january 6th people did not listen to what i said. what i asked for is a 10-day window to actually do a forensic hand count of the ballots. at least those six states but any states that wanted it. 10 plus 6 is 16. the sham audit produced nothing except more votes for joe biden and fewer for donald trump. what was hailed as the ultimate proof of trump s s victory
