Mosinee man killed in weekend crash in Plover

PLOVER – Police continue to investigate a three-vehicle crash Saturday that killed a 66-year-old Mosinee man.  At 12:38 p.m. Saturday, Clifford King was stopped at a stop sign on Hoover Avenue, at Porter Road, village of Plover, when a truck driven by a 53-year-old Rudolph man hit the back of King s vehicle, according to the Plover Police Department.  King s vehicle was pushed forward into a third vehicle that also was stopped for the stop sign, according to police.  An ambulance took King to Ascension St. Michael s Hospital in Stevens Point where he later died from his injuries, according to police. Two other people who may have gotten minor injuries were treated and released from the scene of the crash.

Victim identified in Plover shooting

By Liz Holbrook Feb 9, 2021 3:52 PM PLOVER, WI (WSAU) We now know the name of the person who died in a Plover shooting early Monday morning. According to a press release from Plover Police Chief Dan Ault, the individual who died at the scene was 28-year-old Zachary Deyo of Stevens Point. Deyo was not a guest of the residents at the trailer where he was found shot in the early morning hours of February 8th. Four others were hurt in the shooting, no updates were given on their condition. Police say this is an isolated incident and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Plover Police Department at 715-345-5255.
