Fort Collins police investigated a suspicious bag containing unknown chemicals in south Fort Collins on Thursday, closing roads and evacuating nearby areas for nearly three hours.
A suspicious backpack was found among the contents of an abandoned storage unit in the area of Oakridge and Boardwalk drives about 11 a.m., and the Northern Colorado Bomb Team responded out of precaution, according to a tweet from Fort Collins police.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. â Police in Fort Collins gave the all-clear around 1:30 p.m. Thursday after investigating a suspicious backpack around Oakridge Drive and E. Boardwalk Drive.
The Northern Colorado Bomb Squad responded to the area to investigate out of precaution. Residents on Bluestem Court north of Meadow Drive and the southern part of Hogan Drive south of Player Drive were evacuated, police said
