IDL Ballroom, Enso & The Unicorn Club Closing After August 14
The IDL Ballroom, The Unicorn Club and Enso, all connected at the corner of 1st and Detroit, will close after August 14th.
Angie Green and her husband, Tom Green, have owned IDL Quad Group for 13 years. They told News On 6 they were proud to have bounced back from the pandemic and were doing well in recent months until heartbreaking news. When people can come in and just purchase your building and then just boot you, said Green.
Green said after new owners took over the property in February, she hoped they could negotiate an extension to their lease beyond August. She said reality hit within the last few weeks, after her attorney told her that will not happen.

I came across a post from the Tulsa Office of Film, Music, Arts & Culture. They ve announced that they are taking applications for the Play Tulsa Music Program. What is that? Glad you asked.
Play Tulsa Music is a program designed to help venues in Tulsa with the costs of hiring local,
local, artists for live performances. Last year, with the help of the CARES Act they had $190,000 at their disposal.
This year, with the help of sponsors and community donors, they ve raised $100,000 to help venues book
local artists for live performances in the months of July, August, and September.
Tulsa Music Scene Hopes To Bounce Back After Pandemic
The pandemic has impacted every industry in Oklahoma, but it’s been very hard on Tulsa s music scene. One venue owner says they re just scraping by, but hope is on the horizon. Everybody that works here whether they re full-time or part-time this is all a part of our heart and soul, and we miss it, we miss it terribly, said Simon Aleman.
He owns The Vanguard, a long-standing venue tucked away in the Tulsa Arts District. Before the pandemic, they were selling out shows, looking ahead to a promising year. Now, it sits quietly.
