We can t wait to see the leaves grow in the Spring. They make a huge positive difference and I am sure that all visitors to the park will appreciate them and enjoy the shade they will provide in the summer. The planting works began this week in Golden Gates Park with 15 cherry trees of three different varieties planted. Speaking about the scheme, councillor Peter King, cabinet member for neighbourhood services and transport, said: I welcome these exciting plans which are part of a wider programme to reduce CO2 levels and provide additional habitats for wildlife. I hope Penarth residents will be pleased to see the tree canopy in their green open spaces improved.
