A 115-year-old home in downtown Phoenix may be spared from being demolished thanks to city funds that could help relocate and rehabilitate the structure.
Housing Authority of Hong Kong has approved a plan to build a new housing estate in the city. The project is expected to take about 15 years to complete. The new home will be named after a former owner of the estate, who died in a car accident in the 1970s. The estate will be built on the site of the former owner's house, which was destroyed in a fire in the 1950s. It is expected that the project will be completed by the end of the decade.
The city of Phoenix will officially dedicate the new transit center near the old Metrocenter mall to late former mayor and council member Thelda Williams Friday.
