The Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Omar Ayub Khan chaired the meeting of National Coordination Committee on Foreign-Funded Projects (NCC-FFP) and reviewed the projects being implemented by the Punjab government.
Prime Minister Imran Khan says his government has taken several initiatives for wealth creation so that it could get rid of heavy foreign loans with a strong emphatic assertion: “We want to create more and more wealth to retire heavy foreign loans some of which are causing more loans.”
In December, the Fitch Rating had downgraded Pakistan’s long-term debt rating from ‘B’ to ‘B-’ due to what it described as a high debt repayment obligation, low foreign reserves and fragile fiscal situation. Since then foreign exchange reserves have continuously improved on the back of a surge in workers home remittances, foreign financial inflows and significant rescheduling of debts.
6th CPEC Media Forum virtually held

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The 6th China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Media Forum was virtually held on Monday with the theme “Post-epidemic China-Pakistan Media Cooperation”.
The Forum was jointly organized by the Pakistan-China Institute (PCI) and the China Economic Net (CEN) in cooperation with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Pakistan.
It is conducted as an annual event in Beijing and Islamabad in alternate years.
The Forum conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on topics including the opportunities for digital media, media as an engine for the high-quality development of CPEC, and China-Pakistan media cooperation.
ML-1 to add new chapter to Pak-China relations: PM Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the Main Line-1 (ML-1) is the costliest of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects which will add a new chapter to the Pak-China relations.
Chairing a review meeting of ML-1 under the umbrella of CPEC in Islamabad on Monday, the prime minister said that the ML-1 project will establish a modern communication infrastructure of international standard in the Country and create job opportunities as well as new prospects for Pakistan’s industry.

Imran Khan said that Pakistani exports will timely reach international markets by having better land route coordination with the Country’s seaports, paving a way for earning precious foreign exchange.
