Communication, the out reach and the working together of everybody and i did have a visit to supervisor cohens office and i did talk to her chief and she was not too happy with me, particularly on the communication aspect of things. Particularly when we had said it on the last hearing. To talk about and her position was that there was not enough notice given to her and this is their legislation and they were not involved. And kind of just struck me that this was the last thing that i wanted to hear. And we live in a world, director, where our department has to communicate with everybody. And not everybody understands how we get things done and i get it, but we always have to take the Higher Ground and we always seem to have to reach out to these department and make sure that they understand our concerns. And so for example, what are we doing about to add to the staff to this and what are we doing on our end to make this happen . And i really felt that their position was that we were no
Retail space. A very serious issue. When we talked to ms. Garland we talked about the restaurant to retail issue. Today, i understand that there is an issue of the closing time perhaps no longer being 10 00 on weekdays and 11 00 on the weekends perhaps 11 00 across the board which is not what we talked about two 2 days ago. Ms. Garland says they need time to see what will work. We know what will work which is retail space. We know that that will work there. Should we accept this permit where two 2 days ago we talked about something different. Should we accept loss of our precious precious retail environment on polk street because a restaurant our would like to open another spot. There is nothing against individuals but there is an issue of losing retail on polk street because its known as an interesting vital retail core. We want to be that interesting retail corridor.
