A new Dragon Ball Super 2022 movie release date has been confirmed in an unexpected manner by an official leak. What’s more, Akira Toriyama himself is talking about the new Dragon Ball Super Movie 2 and his plans for the story!
On May 5, 2021, the news page for Toei Animation Europe briefly listed a news story with a headline that states, “Toei Animation Marks Goku Day With Surprise Announcement of New Dragon Ball Super Movie in 2022”.

Introduced to the series as an individual with a quite understandable grudge against Freeza and the destruction and death the Saiyans have caused his people, now Granolah is gearing up to be the primary focus of the fight going forward. But as the newest chapter reveals, he s not exactly shaping up as the main antagonist of this arc. So what could this mean as the arc moves forward?

Chapter 71 of the series continues to set the stage for the fight against Granolah to come now that he s been officially made the strongest warrior in the universe. He s still holding his grudge against Freeza and the Saiyans, and is willing to do whatever is necessary to enact his vengeance but he s also not exactly being as aggressively proactive about it as a foe of the series would usually be.

Super s newest chapter has officially started the Granolah arc of the series that is squarely focused on a brand new warrior that has it out for both the Saiyans and Freeza, Granolah. After his planet was destroyed he has now vowed revenge on the tyrant, and that likely means we ll be getting an update on Freeza s whereabouts before the arc comes to an end.

Chapter 68 of the series introduces us to Granolah, the last survivor of a race known as the Cerealians that were once wiped out by the Saiyans as part of Freeza s original conquest through the universe. Granolah was originally resigned to the fact that Freeza and the Saiyans had been wiped out, but soon he comes to find out that Freeza has come back to life. This fuels his rage even more so as now he actually has a chance to avenge his people.
