Governor Ned Lamont and Education Commissioner Charlene Russell-Tucker today celebrated schools and districts around Connecticut for successfully improving Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) completion rates through the Connecticut State Department of Education’s second annual FAFSA Challenge.
Musician Jacquie Clay has an important question she wants to ask: “Why not you?”
If you have a goal you wish to chase but feel like you’ll never reach it, Clay wants you to think twice.
“I feel like a lot of people don’t believe in themselves, and don’t believe that their dreams can come true. Or (they believe) that they have too big of a dream, and (ask themselves) ‘Why should I even try?’” Clay says. “I wanted to take that question but turn it around, and say ‘Why not you?’”
Clay, a musician from Hyannis, puts the query to music in her first-ever single, entitled “Why Not You?” She released the tune earlier this month, with a goal “to bring more light and positivity into the New Year. I feel we need it now more than ever.”
