Along with creating holiday cheer, two area holiday light displays accepted donations for local food pantries.
A display on Strawberry Lane in Southington has been collecting food for the Southington Food Pantry since 2016 when the display started attracting attention. This year Nicole Woodruff, who hosts the display, said they collected 1,537 pounds of food.
âThe total amount of food weâve collected over the past years I would have to say is between 4,000 to 5,000 pounds,â Woodruff said.Â
