Pro-gun lobby group, the South African Protection Alliance, held a panel discussion on the proposed amendments to the Firearms Control Bill 2021.
Among other things the bill seeks to remove self-defence as a valid reason to own a firearm.
Since opening the draft to public comment, the police ministry has received over 100,000 submissions on the bill. Comments close on 2 August.
