Almost half of all coronavirus fines dished out to Queensland businesses this year were for illegal dancing, while a fraction of businesses caught doing the wrong thing during the pandemic were actually fined.

Figures obtained by
Brisbane Times reveal since March, there were 1783 instances when strict capacity and social-distancing rules were breached at venues and of those, just 2 per cent resulted in a $6672 fine.
