The Quebecor Fund has revealed the list of Canadian production companies that will receive financial backing in the 44th round of the fund's Television Production Assistance Program.
Based on the hugely successful unscripted format from ABC Australia, the new documentary series offers individuals whose lives are often marginalized or misunderstood the opportunity to speak for themselves and share their experiences, yielding raw, and often surprising, insights.

Quintus Studios has acquired several factual titles from a number of European distributors including those from FD Real, Free Documentary, Free Documentary History, Free Documentary Nature and ENDEVR.
Through a volume deal with All3Media International, on board for Free Documentary History in the US, Canada, Australia and India are titles such as Secrets of the Royal Babies and Rome: Empire Without Limit with Mary Beard and Engineering Giants for Free Documentary.
Produced by Spun Gold for ITV, Secrets of the Royal Babies tells the tales of Royal births, motherhood and infancy that have paved the way to this day and asks what Meghan might reasonably expect from this next stage of her life.
Quintus Studios secures slate of acquisitions for European distribution
Quintus Studios, based in Berlin, has acquired several factual titles from European distributors to strengthen its on-demand documentary channels.
The studio has picked up Secrets of the Royal Babies (1 x 60 minutes), produced by Spun Gold for ITV, to air on Quintus’ Free Documentary History channel.
Engineering Giants (3 x 60 minutes) and
Rome: Empire Without Limit with Mary
Beard,
produced by Lion Television, will air on its Free Documentary channel. All three titles were purchased in a volume deal with All3Media International.
Quintus also acquired
Dangerous Flights (8 x 60 minutes) produced by Pixcom Productions, both from distributor Cineflix Rights.
