Fire at Cabras power plant

Guam Fire Department units responded to the scene of a fire at the Cabras power plant in Piti Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 3:03 p.m., an electrical panel at the GPA Cabras 1 Unit caught fire, a Guam Power Authority release stated. The unit was shut down.
The fire involved a boiler, according to GFD spokesperson Cherika Chargualaf. Units arrived 3:44 p.m., she said.
As of 5:22 p.m., Chargualaf said, firefighters were still working on containment. It was confined to the boiler area, though it went as far as the third floor, she said.
