think that s unacceptable. but the president also has some culpability here. he spent most of his speech last night engaged in dividing america, pitting one group against the other. using vulgar tee instead of laying out a positive vision for what he and his party would improve people s lives he spent his speech attacking people, a tacking politicians, the media, attacking people in minnesota. there is no place for that in our political discourse. if we want people to be peaceful and protestors to be peaceful we also need to make sure the rhetoric we use doesn t insight people to violence. the president has some culpability here too. bill: he is doing quite well in minnesota which makes it a battleground in 2020. your state will get a lot of attention. you go back to 2016, a race that was really close. hillary clinton won it by 45,000 votes. how do you as democrats keep it blue in 2020?
democrats will say it should have been a blowout, that we re within a point or two is good news for the democrats. republicans will say that. we won a special election in a tough environment. guess what. if it turns out that way, both will be right. republicans if they hold on will win a tough race in a tough environment. democrats will say, we shouldn t be having this conversation tonight. this should have been a blowout. so as we look right now, 92% in. a 3,821 3,800 and change for dan bishop, the republican. this is what s left, the big piece of what s left is mecklenburg county. 76% in. this is about a third, 30% to a third of the district depending on turnout. it s the edge of charlotte and then the suburbs to the southeast of charlotte. you see it blue for dan mccready. you see he s winning. this is good news for the democrats. again, republicans are having

i expect some interesting answers to that question. meanwhile, the members getting on the impeachment continues to tick up. in the last few case, a handful of house democrats support impeachment inquiries. that brings our count here at msnbc to 118 house democrats, who support impeachment, plus newly minted house democrat justin amash. one comes from colorado congressman jason crow. he is a freshman member of congress. his district has been a republican strong hold for more than a decade until he flipped it blue in 2018, which means coming out for an impeachment inquiry is a gamble for a democratic congressman running for re-election. he says
