Hunterdon County Urges President Biden s Administration to Reconsider Support for PennEast Pipeline

By RIKKI MASSAND Credits: Rikki Massand April 6, 2021 at 9:00 AM HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ - A long, drawn-out battle against eminent domain and the PennEast Pipeline’s plans to disrupt earth in Hunterdon County enters its latest phase in April, but, ahead of the U.S. Supreme Court hearing, the Hunterdon County governing body took actions to urge President Joe Biden’s Administration to have an about-face and look more closely at the land use and eminent domain issue facing New Jersey and the county. In considering a “bigger picture” mission, on March 16, the county commissioners approved a resolution calling on Biden’s Administration to reverse its stated support for the PennEast Pipeline’s use of eminent domain for New Jersey state property if the project goes forward.

The oil rig count, a major index for measuring level of activities in the upstream oil sector, was contained in the latest industry data released by the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC. On Quarter-on-Quarter, QoQ basis, the data shows a steady decline in the level of activities all through the year with the highest count of 56 recorded in the first quarter, while subsequent quarters show declines to 33, 24 and 22 deployed in the second, third and fourth quarters respectively.
