Almost 100,000 people across the UAE have received the vaccine as part of a voluntary program.

The United Arab Emirates approved the Chinese drugmaker Sinopharmâs COVID-19 vaccine candidate, the countryâs Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) announced Dec. 9.
According to the official press release, this vaccine has been granted emergency use authorization in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) since September to âprotect frontline workers most at risk of COVID-19.â
