Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) has identified over 700 properties on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) stretch from Kempapura to JP Nagar IV Phase for the construction of the 32.2-km Orange Line under Phase III. The acquisition of these properties, located along the proposed line connecting the Blue Line (KIA-Silk Board) and Pink Line (Kalena Agrahara-Nagawara) on either side, is estimated to cost Rs 1,900 crore. The elevated line will run along the median of ORR. The properties identified are required for building Metro stations, entry and exit points, and at some locations, construction of viaduct. The total land required is nearly 1.3 lakh sqm along the line. The proposed Orange Line by BMRCL will have interchange facilities with operational and upcoming Metro stations and with other modes of transport.
