One person is dead two more in Critical Condition following a late Night Police Chase and crash. Around 9 k 30 police tried to pull over a black corvette that was speeding, but the driver floored it. A chase began, ending when the corvette smashed into a car on 24th street and gainer avenue. A passenger in that car was killed. The driver is in Critical Condition. Police say they also found another person on the sidewalk with critical injuries. They arent sure which car he was in. Reporter she drove her car down the sidewalk last night obviously putting a lot of people in harms way she slammed in to several parked cars along the way also hit a building as well, but amazingly enough didnt hit anybody walking down the street at the time. This happened around 7 00 last night on pine street, just off vanness, investigators say two officers opened fire as she drove her car toward them, the dangerous situation began with two plain clothes officers checking out the car at
Womans car still on the sidewalk. This whole incident happened shortly after 7 00. The woman behind the wheel was driving at one point in time the wrong way down pine which is a one way street. And as you said earlier, aimed the car directly at the officers. This all started as a stolen vehicle investigation. They approached the woman at a near by gas station. As they approached that vehicle, the woman took off, turned up pine westbound on pine. Then did a u turn on a one way street. The officers then drove up on to the sidewalk at one point and back up the street several times in about a 50yard stretch. As she got back close to the officers they say she aimed her car directly at them and hit her gas. Thats when the two officers on scene both fired their guns hitting and killing the woman behind the wheel.
