Inaugural Olde Fashioned Christmas draws hundreds to downtown Ringtown

RINGTOWN — The organizer of the borough’s first Olde Fashioned Christmas event said she hopes it puts the borough on the map. “I’m hoping it will wake the town up,” said Cheri Linkchorst. “The town has a lot to offer.” Several hundred people, most of whom wore face masks, showed up on a snowy Saturday to the borough’s inaugural event, co-hosted by the Ringtown Rotary Club and Pine Hollow Soaps of Ringtown. The event kicked off Saturday with a short parade featuring fire trucks, one of which blasted Christmas music, from the Ringtown Valley Fire and Rescue Company, and Santa Claus, assisted by two people dressed as elves, driving down Main Street.
