Brad Bolding waited 22 years to win his first state championship as a head coach. He made the semifinals nine times prior to hoisting the trophy after Little Rock Parkview defeated Shiloh Christian 31-21 in the Class 5A state championship game last fall.
At the halfway mark, it’s already been a long basketball season for Smackover’s senior girls. The Lady Bucks’ record? Well, at this point it doesn’t matter. They haven’t won a game.
Several of the losses have been by lopsided margins.
Coach David Preston admitted his concern. His players’ love for the game has been tested along with just their basic mental toughness.
BOONEVILLE – The marquee nonconference game in the state went about like the first three meetings between Booneville and Harding Academy did, and that was with the Wildcats winning handily.
