RULING: The Manchester employment tribunal offices A JOINER who was sacked while attending a diabetes appointment is due a £22,000 payout from his former bosses in Bolton. An employment tribunal ruled earlier this year that self-employed contractor Barry Killeen should be compensated following his sacking by P J Services (Bolton) Ltd, after his successful equality claim. Mr Killeen had told a Manchester hearing how he had to leave a house refurbishment job in Bolton as his blood sugar level had dropped to “dangerously low” levels. And he insisted to the tribunal he had informed his foreman about his date with Bolton Diabetic Clinic.
