Drone festival highlights MVCC s Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems degree program

UTICA, NY - MVCC S Unmanned Aerial Solutions Club hosted a drone festival Saturday in the main quad at the college’s Utica campus.
The event featured interactive demonstrations of many different types of drones, including racing drones, hands-on racing simulators, and the opportunity to fly a mini-drone. First-timers got the opportunity to pilot a hover drone so they could get a feel for the controls.
“Even though this is not the outcome we were hoping for, we are glad to be able to bring closure to the family,” says Sgt. Christopher Henderson with the St. Andrews RCMP.
RCMP offered appreciation to the members of the community, partner agencies and specialized policing services for their assistance throughout the investigation.
It includes various teams of professionally trained Ground Search and Rescue volunteers and canine, members of the West District RCMP, the New Brunswick Coroner’s office, the RCMP’s Underwater Recovery Team, RCMP Air Services, RCMP Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems or drone, the New Brunswick Department of Justice and Public Safety and the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
