Road crews in Hazleton had more than snow-covered roads to navigate Thursday afternoon as they continued working to reopen streets after a storm dumped an estimated 12 to 18 inches of snow throughout Luzerne County overnight Wednesday.
Director of Public Works Frank Vito said that crews had just about all streets in the city cleared of snow as of Thursday afternoon, even though efforts were hampered by motorists who ignored snow-parking regulations and numerous people were spotted throwing snow back onto streets.
âThe equipment held up, the guys held up and it was long hours, but we have it pretty much in order now,â Vito said.
