The cost of sheltering refugees and asylum seekers has become unsustainable for two Toronto churches, who have made the decision to close their doors to guests by the end of this year.
The city has flowed $50,000 in funding and meal support six weeks after Pilgrim Feast Tabernacles church in Etobicoke began sheltering, feeding and providing medication to 150 African asylum seekers.
