told police her brother beat her on the day of the shooting. 200 million americans are facing a deep freeze that s forcing school closures for more than a million children. the snow and ice already causing deadly crashes. this one along interstate act in western pennsylvania involving 18 vehicles. it killed three people and injured at least 30 others. it was one of many pile-ups across the country. here now abc s alex perez. reporter: in michigan, blowing snow causing a 44-car pile-up in muskegon. earlier this minivan carrying a family of four got stuck under a moving semi truck. it was snow blinding. we ran into the back of a semi truck and he s not stopping and our car is embedded underneath of it. reporter: the semi dragged the minivan a frightening 16 miles. the windshield is completely shattered. i can t see nothing. reporter: police finally flagged down the semi driver. luckily, no serious injuries. the deep freeze gripping much of the eastern half of the country. p
