Menu Four arrested in complex murder inquiry as police reveal man found dead in West Yorkshire likely died in Manchester Rhys Thompson The family of a man whose body was found in West Yorkshire last Thursday have paid tribute to him. At around 6.40am on Thursday, police in West Yorkshire attended reports of a body found off Pike End Road in Rishworth, Calderdale. Formal identification has since taken place and has been confirmed as that of 29-year-old Rhys Thompson from the Moss Side area of Manchester. A murder investigation was launched by GMP s Major Incident Team and specialist officers are supporting Rhys s family at this distressing time.

Rhys Thompson, 29, was found dead last Friday, May 14, on land in Rishworth at around 6.40am. Greater Manchester Police and West Yorkshire Police have launched a murder investigation and detectives at GMP have so far arrested four men. The suspects have since been released under investigation. Rhys family, who are being supported by specially trained officers, have today paid tribute, describing him as having the biggest heart .

Pike End Road in Rishworth. Picture: Google Street View Detectives have launched a murder investigation after the discovery of a body in a rural corner of West Yorkshire. The man, aged in his 20s, is believed to have lost his life in horrendous circumstances. At around 6.40am on Thursday, police in West Yorkshire attended reports of a body found off Pike End Road, a remote and narrow lane near Rishworth, in Calderdale. Formal identification has yet to take place but he is believed to be a man in his 20s from the Moss Side area of Manchester, who was linked to a disturbance on Delaunays Road, Crumpsall, a few miles north of Manchester city centre, at around 3.40am on Thursday.
