Cubans will gather today in havanas revolution square to begin a weeklong ceremony for fidel castro, bringing an end to his nearly 50year rule over the island nation. Castros remains were reportedly cremated on saturday. Following the end of the public ceremony tomorrow night, a procession will carry his ashes east to santiago de cuba, where he will be laid to rest. Tributes to the late leader poured in across havana and the rest of the country, but around the rest of the world, the reaction has been mixed to say the least.
