A mandatory evacuation was ordered for downtown gatlinburg as flames and choking smoke swept through and around the Great Smoky Mountain National park. An advisory was issued there, some areas nearby pigeon forge were also evacuated. Police have been going door to door to warn residents. The wind direction is swirling.
