One on One with ARN: Tecala s Pieter DeGunst
DeGunst talks about his first fling with computers through to his current role within Tecala.
Since high school, Tecala managing director Pieter DeGunst built computers. He takes ARN through the hardship journey in switching Tecala from a hardware and services business to a managed service provider 10 years ago, the precious lessons learnt during that time and the value of surrounding yourself with the right people.
What was your first job?
In high school, a couple of friends and I set up a micro-business, building computers for friends and family. I wouldn’t go so far as to call it entrepreneurship but it was an early experience of operating commercially, dealing with suppliers and customers and managing customer satisfaction.
