Announced in September last year, during Ubisoft Forward 2020, the remake of 2003’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was originally meant to be out by January this year, and then it was March, and now you can expect it at “a later date”. Sorry.

The reveal of the remake was met with a less than favourable response from fans suggesting that it somehow looked worse than the original. At the time, game director at Ubisoft India Pierre Sylvain-Gires explained in an interview that the aesthetic was a choice and not the result of time or budget constraints. Apparently, they wanted the Sands of Time remake to look “unique”. It seems Ubisoft India took all that “passionate” fan feedback to heart, since they’re now delaying the release indefinitely.
