The Edgecomb Community Church has a busy holiday fundraising season approaching. The Thrift Store will be holding bi-weekly sales of Christmas clothing and décor along with bake sales and raffles. Each Tuesday and Saturday, from Nov. 20 to Dec. 11,.
Tuesday, Nov. 23 Edgecomb Community Church’s yearly Thanksgiving pie sale will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the church. Freshly baked apple, blueberry, rhubarb, pecan, pumpkin, and other assorted pies will fill the room for guests to purchase.
Seacoast Garden Club greets spring with flowers, plants, gardens and pies

KENNEBUNK – Spring has sprung and members of the Seacoast Garden Club are greeting these warmer days with a flurry of seasonal activities.
On Thursday, April 29, 13 members gathered at Buffie Clarke’s home to assemble 93 May Baskets of fresh flowers for distribution to shut-ins, the elderly and garden club friends in the area.
Clarke, who has chaired this annual community outreach project for several years, appreciated the large array of colorful flowers that Seacoast members donated to the effort. She also noted that this year’s request for baskets was larger than in past years. Agencies receiving the bright baskets for distribution include Huntington Common, Atria and Home Instead, as well as various individuals.
That would be mine, and I’ve grown used to grabbing my mask when I see someone pull in my driveway, empty egg cartons in hand. I watch astonished to see the nine-year-old (part of my upstairs family) run out to greet the mailman with his T-shirt pulled up over his mouth and nose. The children are scrupulous about masks.
