another legal development, a federal court has temporarily put the debt relief plan on hold. and i wanted to ask you a fairly broad big picture question. what does it say about the state of politics in this country that so much of it go governance is being decided by the courts? and we know that court, kim, is a 6-3 majority, 5-4 in some cases. and every opportunity they get meaning those attorney generals in red states, conservative activist groups, they are going to challenge absolutely everything that joe biden signs into law. not to be a surprise. republicans have made it clear that every opportunity they get, they will beobstruct whatever j biden does. but i think that the majority of
how closely watched it is. it s something that happens all the time in ordinary cases, although as a general matter attorneys like to put in briefs and memos of law within the page limits prescribed by the court. on the one hand, as kara pointed out, the review is already done. one of the arguments the department of justice will likely make is that a special master is moot. the job is finished, the filter team has done its work, so they can be sure. they must feel strongly they don t want a special master appointed to the matter. because the judge has given an indication that she s inclined to appoint a special master, they want to make sure they believe no argument is left on the table, that they describe the facts in totality to the court, because they have a skeptical judge. so sometimes when there s a skeptical judge and the judge telegraphs she s skeptical, you want to take as much room as possible. preet, i want to ask a big picture question that gets to any potential criminal
