The state, like the rest of the country, was in the midst of a racial reckoning. And the organization wanted to gauge public opinion on a crucial but often forgotten issue: school segregation. A solid majority, it turned out — 55 percent — agreed that school segregation is a “big” or “somewhat big” problem in the United States.
