WASHINGTONVILLE – Parents rallied on Monday outside several Orange County school districts, asking that administrators allow full-time in-person schooling as an option for their kids.
On a chilly day that marked a year since New York State Gov. Andrew Cuomo ordered school buildings shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, parents gathered with signs outside the boards of education in Washingtonville and Cornwall, with rallies also planned for Middletown, Valley Central and Pine Bush. They argued that the ongoing virtual or hybrid learning models are failing children, and those who need live classroom instruction to thrive need to have that choice.
