Author Phumlani Pikoli has died. He was 33.
The author was found dead in bed after his family couldn t get ahold of him over the weekend.
It is with a heavy heart filled with sadness and sorrow that we have to announce the passing of Phumlani Pikoli, the son to Vusi and Girlie Pikoli, the family said in a statement. The gruesome discovery of Phumlani s lifeless body lying in bed is something that no parent needs to go through, his father said in a statement through the family spokesperson, Twiggs Xiphu.
The family tried to get in touch with him and when he didn t respond, they drove down to Johannesburg and found him dead.

Nelli, who was engaged to rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes, died after she allegedly fell from the 10th floor of the Pepperclub Hotel in Cape Town. Her family confirmed her death in a statement.
On Monday, the Tembe family together with AKA’s family, paid tribute to Nelli. The service was held on Zoom for those who could not attend due to Covid-19 regulations.

JOHANNESBURG - Journalist, author and son of anti-apartheid struggle veterans Vusi and Girlie Pikoli, Phumlani Pikoli, passed away on Sunday, his parents announced.
Pikoli (33), who previously worked as a multimedia journalist at
Eyewitness News and authored books such as
Born Freeloaders, was found dead at his apartment in Johannesburg.
In a statement released on Monday, it was said that parents had travelled up to Johannesburg to check on him after they couldn t reach him on his cellphone.
