The person was first seen on the tracks near the concord bart station about 6 30 tonight and that person still wont come down. We want to give you a live look at the concord bart station. And you can see Contra Costa County Fire Protection crews with a ladder extended there to those elevated tracks. Still working to try to get that person to come down off of the tracks. They have been negotiating with the person for hours trying to safely remove the individual. And as i mentioned, they have been doing so for hours. Service has been stopped in this area since early this evening. Negotiators have been trying to convince the person to surrender peacefully. But theyre concerned the person my try to harm himself. There was a chaotic scene earlier when trains came to a stop and bart cut power to the tracks. Stations were crowded and there were reports of people stuck in elevators for a short time. And riders reported being trapped in hot bart cars. It got pretty stuffy, people started to los
